Take advantage of nanomaterials to properly regulate the inflammatory response. In particular, colloidal nanoparticles are exploited to improve the delivery of a peptide (VIVIT) that inhibits calcineurin/NFAT pathway (Patent WO2014013473-A1). The developed drug delivery systems are investigated for the treatment of several pathological conditions (e.g., transplantation rejection, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia) by targeting specific immune cells.

DEVELOPMENT OF ORALLY DISINTEGRATING TABLETS (ODT) FORMULATIONS USING BINDER JETTING 3D-PRINTING TECHNOLOGY Orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) are solid forms designed to dissolve quickly in the mouth, making them suitable for patients with swallowing difficulties. 3D printing, especially binder jetting, allows for customized ODTs by layering powders with a binding solution, creating highly porous and rapidly dissolving tablets. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION …

Nano – Bio Interactions

Studies of interaction of nanomaterials with biological systems: several scientists have pointed out that lack of knowledge in the interaction of nanomaterials with biological systems can seriously limit nanotechnology potential. Thus, part of our research activity aims to give a contribution to this field by investigating nanoparticles intracellular trafficking, their capability of crossing the biological barriers, nanotoxicology or their potential …
